'PRoPAKnowledge' considers all types of articles from the categorized list mentioned below, for publication on our individual journals. Such as Research, Review, Case Reports, Editorials, Experts Commentaries/Opinion, and Short Communications. We also publish all kinds of Clinical & Surgical Videos and Images apart from the contemporary manuscript types. Our author(s) could choose a suitable category from the list based on the defined specifications, while submitting their manuscript. The author(s) can also mention their choice in the cover letter, which must be submitted along with the manuscript. We’d like to inform you that, our editors and editorial team may have the right to change/suggest the category in subject to the right fit for the manuscript. The classification of the manuscript will be mentioned right above the manuscript title.
Article type and specifications can be distinguished based on various aspects like article length, illustrations (images, graphical representations, etc.), tables and references. We are pleased to inform our author(s), that these specifications have been suggested in terms creating positive impact on the reader and to help improving readability.
Research: Research submissions should be original; evidence based and contains epistemic significance of the evidences used in research. A research article submitted to us should contain a unique empirical data and previously not been published anywhere else. Structure & Specifications: All submissions under this category should be structured with the outline of Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Discussion and other subsections such as follows: Findings and Conclusion, Acknowledgements, Competing interests, Author’s Contributions, Ethical Approval and/or Consent forms (if applicable, whether it is from a patient or from an authorised institutions in case of non-human based research), and references along with Figures and Tables. Specifications: An Original research article length could be of 3500-6000 words and should not contain more than 20 figures/tables. A short research article length could be of 3000-4000 words, 5-6 figures and/or tables and 20-30 key references.
Review: Review articles are classified into three types, which are Review, Systematic Review and Mini Review.
i) Review- This type of article consists of discussions and author’s overview on previously published work in a particular field. A review article shouldn’t have to contain unique data at a greater extent but we suggest the author(s) to choose a topic which could be interest to a wide range audience.
Specifications: A review article length could be of 4000-8000 words including of 3-5 figures and/or tables (if required) and 50-150 references.
ii) Systematic Review- This type of article should be based on medical interventions or non-human model studies. We strongly recommend our authors to follow the PRISMA guidelines while preparing a systematic review article. A systematic review should deal with a sophisticatedly formulated question and apply systematic and distinct methods to identify, prefer and critically evaluate the pertinent research. Specification: A systematic review article length could be of 4000-8000 words including of 3-5 figures and/or tables (if required) and 50-150 references.
iii) Mini-Review- A mini-review should be based on previously published work and documented in a concise and easily understandable language. It should describe historical perspectives or summarises of developments in emerging fields fits within the scope of the journal. Specifications: A mini-review article length could be of 3000-5000 words, excluding 2-3 figures and/or tables (if required) and 30-70 references.
Case report is a detailed and comprehensive summary of a patient’s medication details which encompasses a clear description and conclusion of a case. A case report should contain a record of original clinical interactions. This should clearly demonstrate rare/unusual clinical implications of a known/unknown disease, which confront the practitioner.
Case series articles should contain a review of similar cases (two or multiple) of known/unknown diseases, which elaborates the differences and complications in the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This type of articles should contain an evidence based approach, which discusses about patient management and treatment possibilities for a specific clinical problem or scenario.
Specifications: A case report length should not be more than 2000 words, excluding 20-25 references and 5-8 figures.
Structure: All submissions under this category should be structured with the outline of Abstract (should not exceed 250words), Aims, Presentation of case(s), Discussion and Conclusion, Acknowledgements, Author’s contribution, Competing interests, Figures and/or Tables and references. Authors should provide a clear consent from the patient(s) or concerned family members.
Communication articles could be categorize into several types, based the purpose and interests which drives the author to write a particular article. This kind of articles would serve as a means of communication between the editors and the readers of the journal. The article should not contain any original work, but could provide commentary, new and alternative perspectives, corrections, queries on published data, etc. General letter to the editor articles (related to editing and synopsis of the content) should not be submitted and/or published elsewhere.
Specifications: Communication articles length could be of up to 700 words, excluding up to 10references, and should not contain more than one Figure or Table.
Composition and structure of all manuscripts should be as per the ‘PRoPAKnowledge’’s guidelines which formulated according to ‘ICEMJ’- International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Authors are suggested to go through the instructions and guidelines for preparing a manuscript, which mentioned below.
We request our authors to prepare the manuscript in a simple and easily understandable language, which enhances the readability of our common readers. All manuscripts submitted for publication on ‘PRoPAKnowledge’’s journals should contain the following components and should be arranged in a standardized structure as follows:
Cover Letter: Authors should include the cover letter along with the manuscript. Cover letter should describe the significance and how impactful contribution that, the study adds to the literature of a particular field of science. Mention the type of article, how the work correlates with previously published work. Cover letter should be signed by all the authors and all significant contributors. Authors could specify any names that, they want to exclude from involving in editorial and Peer-review process with sophisticated reasons for the same.
Title: Title must describe the topic of the study and compelling to common readers interests (should not exceed 250 characters).
Author Details: Author’s Full Name, Complete affiliation which includes- Department, University/Institutional affiliation, Location: City, State and country. If Author pertains multiple affiliations, he/she can choose to mention multiple or primary affiliation as per personal preferences. Corresponding author: Corresponding author’s Full Name, Department, University/Institutional affiliation, Full Address for correspondence, Telephone Number and institutional E-mail Address.
Abstract: Abstract should be under 300 words and should concisely describe the nature of the study and main objective. It should explain the purpose of the study, methods and techniques used to achieve the objective, key findings and essential data and conclusions. Abstract should not contain any Standard (or) Non-standard Abbreviations (If required, Please Clearly define where it first appears in the manuscript) and citations of reference, figures and tables, etc.
Introduction: Introduction should describe the factual background and the problem addressed in the study. The process involved in conducting the study, succinct review of the literature, conflict of interests and constructive criticism (if any). A brief statement on proposed solution for the problem and about result of the study conducted.
Materials and Methods: This section should provide detailed and adequate information for peers and others to replicate or re-conduct the experiment. Detailed description of Protocols and new methods and/or tools introduced in the study should be included in this section along with required protocol documents like questionnaires, software licensing and permissions. Protocols of previously published work must be cited with sophisticated details. Legal approvals from concerned authorities must be provided, in support to ethical usage Human or Non-human subjects and/or sampling materials while conducting the study.
Protocol Publishing: Authors may choose to upload their protocol documents and methodologies used for clinical trials; laboratory based observational studies and other types of studies on protocols.io. This OpenAccess protocol sharing platform enables you to share your protocol with selective colleagues or all the community members and get feedback from them which will help you to make any improvements or changes to your methods before you submit your work for publication. Results and Discussions: This section may contain different subsections, which clearly deciphers the results achieved in the experiment, how they have been achieved and the significance of the findings of the study. Authors should explicitly describe and analyze technical implications of the findings and should clearly mention the citations in support of the key findings. Figures and tables should be mentioned with numbers for a clear understanding. This section should contain a concise interpretation on data and, simple and easily understandable language.
Conclusions: This is a brief interpretation of the major findings of the study.
Acknowledgements: A clear Declaration and proper acknowledgement of important Contributions and assistance of all others apart from the authors should mention in this section.
Author’s contributions: This section should describe individual contributions of each author.
Conflict of Interest: Authors should declare and clearly describe conflicts of interest in a transparent manner and support us to maintain high quality standards and conduct ethical practice. Authors are requested to mention with a clear statement, if there’re no such conflict of interests.
References: References should be placed at the end of the manuscript and should follow sequential numbering order as per the citations mentioned in the text. In the text each reference cited should be indicated with numbers and in square brackets []; e.g. [1]; [2,3]; [4-7]; [8,9 & 15]; etc. ‘PRoPAKnowledge’ only accepts the references formatted in ‘Vancouver Style’. We request our authors to go through with ICMJE sample format of references for examples more information about formatting references as per the guidelines formulated by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
References should include manuscripts published online, works accepted for publications, and manuscripts under preprint, obtained citable ‘DOI’ details. We recommend our authors to avoid using unpublished works as references (if any, please mention in the text itself and provide all related documentation along with the manuscript). Please avoid using ‘personal communication’ as references. Authors should carefully organize all parts of the manuscript before sequential ordering of references in the text.
Figures and Tables:
Figures and tables should not include with main text document and submit them as separate files. The data interpreted in the figures and tables should be accurate and authentic in terms of technicality. The same data which is represented in the figures and tables should not be repeated within the main text.
Figures and tables should be cited in the text along with a clear and concise discussion about the interpreted data.
Tables:
Tables should contain data which is easily understandable without the help of any text references. Tables should have a concise headings (should be mentioned above the table) and footnotes (should be mentioned below the table).
Tables should be cited in the main text as, Table 1; Table 2; .... etc.
Figures: Authors are requested to submit highest quality images along a suitable caption mentioned below each Figure. Avoid using water marks, captions and any other text on the images itself. Figures should be free from any copy right issues, as articles published on ‘PRoPAKnowledge’ journals are Open Access and freely accessible for download and reuse. If figures submitted are already published (if not available on public domains), authors should obtain proper permissions from the original source creators and acknowledge the same. Figures submitted could be in any one of the following digital formats: JPEG; Jpeg, TIFF, PNG, etc. And, all kind figures should be at least 300dpi to 600dpi (dots per inch) resolution, file size should not exceeds 10MB.
Figures should be cited in the main text as, Fig.1; Fig.2;... etc.
